One pharmacy making a real difference is Akina Pharmacy, a people-first organization that’s on a mission to enrich lives through compounded medications and personalized care. And right now, they're on the lookout for a Pharmacy TechnicianData Entry who can thrive in a fully remote work setting.

About Akina Pharmacy

Akina Pharmacy isn’t your typical pharmacy. Their entire culture revolves around compassion, excellence, and purpose. Operating under the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), Akina ensures that communication is clear, processes are effective, and everyone on the team knows exactly what’s expected of them.

Their values say it all:

  • Excellence Always
  • Go-Getter’s Unite
  • Compassion For All
  • Called To Serve

It’s not just about getting the job done—it’s about doing it well, supporting each other, and making real impact.

Role Overview

As a Pharmacy Technician focused on Data Entry, your role is central to the success of Akina’s daily operations. You’ll be responsible for processing a high volume of prescription orders—around 250 per day—while keeping everything accurate, secure, and compliant.

This isn’t just data punching. You’ll also:

  • Communicate with providers (via email, phone, or fax) to clarify or complete orders
  • Verify prescription and patient details
  • Update patient records with high attention to detail
  • Resolve data inaccuracies before they become problems

And yes—this is a fully remote role, so you can work from the comfort of your home (or anywhere with stable internet). But don’t think you’ll be isolated—Akina’s structured system ensures you’re supported and connected every step of the way.

What Akina Offers (Besides a Paycheck)

Sure, you’ll get paid—but Akina’s benefits go far beyond that. They want you to grow, stay healthy, and enjoy your life.

  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance

Choose from three flexible plans that fit your lifestyle. Dental and vision coverage is available for you and your family.

  • Paid Time Off
Enjoy a generous PTO plan that includes vacation and sick days to rest and recharge.
  • Paid Holidays
Get 8 paid holidays throughout the year to celebrate and spend time with loved ones.
  • 401(k) Matching
Akina matches up to 4% dollar-for-dollar, helping you build a secure financial future.

Rewards & Recognition

Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. Akina has a structured program to reward high performers and celebrate team achievements.

Are You a Good Fit?

Akina isn’t for everyone. They’re clear about the kind of people who thrive in their culture.

You’ll succeed in this role if you:

  • Love working independently but know when to ask for help
  • Enjoy following clear processes and systems
  • Have a “get-it-done” mindset
  • Are highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with providers and teammates

This job is not a good fit if:

  • You struggle with meeting deadlines
  • You dislike repetitive tasks
  • You don’t work well under structure or feedback

The Tech & Experience You Need

To thrive in this role, Akina prefers that you come with the following:

Pharmacy Tech License & Certification

You must be a certified pharmacy technician (CPhT) and licensed under the Virginia Board of Pharmacy.

Data Entry Experience

1–2 years in pharmacy or healthcare-related data entry is preferred (but not strictly required). Accuracy is the game here.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA

You'll be dealing with sensitive patient data, so understanding HIPAA regulations is non-negotiable.

  • Time Management

With high-volume tasks and performance benchmarks to hit daily, you need to juggle multiple responsibilities without letting things slip.

  • Strong Communication

You’ll talk to providers daily, so being able to communicate clearly and respectfully—especially over the phone—is crucial.

  • Bonus: Compounding Pharmacy Experience

If you’ve worked in a 503A or 503B compounding pharmacy, that’s a plus—but it’s not required.
